Breaking my own record..(and back)

I knew today would be interesting. 1,000 cookies to wrap by this afternoon for my lovely UPS man? Piece o' cake I though to myself last night. Afterall, I already had the ribbon cut and all of the other orders scheduled to commence Tuesday. Well, the morning started off pretty good. Took Ali to school, came to work and realized I was hungry. K, ate some cheese...checked some E-mails..answered a few calls..checked & answered E-mails again...sent some invoices...Holy Crap 11:20am!! You HAVE to be kidding me. The morning was almost gone! I nervously chewed on my lip...(actually, I nervously screamed at M - my business partner/fiance to come help meeee!) My fingers went into "wrapping mode" and I (still can't believe it) finished wrapping more than 900 cookies by 4 o' clock...UPS came..cookies gone....fingers swollen and limp...but I can breathe again...now to finish checking some E-mails...check my farmville & Cafe World (don't pretend you don't have one!)...send invoices..pick up Ali from school...take her to soccer..cook dinner....just another cookie day..

Strange Requests 2010

Although 2010 has just begun...I have already received some pretty weird requests for cookies. The peanut cookie meant for a baby shower was a lot of fun. We made some extras and my fiance swears it tasted like peanut butter. Nope, same recipe! I also had the pleasure of receiving a very nice E-mail from the client. Thank you, Geraldine!

The kidney was a very simple design and yet a very difficult one. The client mentioned she was a doctor (gulp!)...so you can bet I wanted it to look as real as possible. It was a gift for her friend who gave one of his kidneys to his sister. I think this sweet gift was more than appropriate. :)

Valentine's Day Recipe - Churros!

My fiance is a huge fan of churros! Here is a recipe I found from womansday.com that I am planning to make for him next week.

I'll post pics when they are finished. Let's hope they look half as cute as the ones on the pic!

Photogiftguide.com

We've been recommended by www.photogiftguide.com which is a very cool site that features all sorts of photo gifts. I love their low cost photo gift section (in this economy low cost is essential, I think!) which features a personalized chef hat! http://www.photogiftguide.com/products/photo-chefshat.htm. They also have an apron and even photo gift wrap! Now I think I have seen everything!!

The last 3 months of 2009 were quite busy (even crazier than I imagined!). Here are some of my favorite cookie orders from last year.

I'm working on new Valentine's Day designs which will be up on the website very soon. The sun refused to come out today so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day to take the pics. My assistant is still very hard at work on making the updates to the website and it has taken much longer than expected but it should be ready by the end of February. I hope everyone had a great New Year and I will try my best to keep up posts on a weekly basis!

New York Jets Cookies & Meeple Cookies

I just had to share these cute football cookies we made this week. I'm looking forward to making some more with the Miami Dolphins logo :) Do you guys like the image background or do you think the cookies look better with just a white background? I'm curious...

A client E-mailed to ask if I could make her Meeple Cookie Favors for a 40th Birthday Party. Naturally, I had no clue what Meeples were. After a little Googling, I found that Meeples are little game pieces for a game called Carcassonne. Call me crazy but I actually want to play that game one day! A custom cutter was made for the order (which came out pretty darn huge!). The cookies were made in various colors and I think they look adorable lined up like little soldiers. The client called me the day her order arrived and was very happy with her 5.5" Meeple Cookies (Woohoo!) I love those calls! Thank you Anna Maria!!

Hi Everyone! Geeez...it has been way too long since my last post. We have been VERY busy baking up some custom cookies these last few months..from portable potty's to NASA logo's. Now that we are more settled into our new place, I'll (Hopefully) have more time to update this blog on a weekly basis. We're working on a bunch of new cookie designs and updated website (yeay!).

On a completely different note, I just want to share how much I LOVE my clients. I have received so many sweet E-mails the last few weeks. It just makes me twirl around with a BIG banana smile on my face after reading them. :) So to everyone that takes the time to leave comments on Flickr and write an E-mail...thank you..THANK YOU! You guys rock and make my day extra special!

Here are some recent cookie pics. I'll have some new baby designs I'm working on to show you next week!

Recent Custom Cookie Pics

I promised some new custom cookies and here they are! The first are some samples we made for a Sweet 16 party in NJ. The client gave me her idea of a fancy "A" in either pink or silver with the princess crown and maybe a butterfly. This is the final design she approved. The second is one of my favorites, the modern mom cookie. We changed the colors as per the clients request. I don't usually get to meet my clients (most cookies are shipped to various states, even Canada!) but it was very nice to meet you, Rosa!

Happy Belated New Year!

Wow! Time has flown since the last post in November. I apologize for not updating the blog as much as I should. Due to the economy, we have seen a slow down since December but thankfully things are getting a little better each day.

In other news, I have a really *FANTASTIC* recipe to share. It is for Potato Rolls from the Food Network website. I made them for Thanksgiving dinner and they were such a hit that they made an encore at our family's Christmas Eve dinner. They do take a bit of time to make but it is mostly because of the time necessary for them to rise. Otherwise, it is not a difficult recipe and the ingredients are inexpensive and basic. Overall, 5 stars!

Here is the direct link to the recipe:

I'll be posting again very soon with some new cookies!

More Custom Cookies!

I must admit that I love custom orders. This week we were asked to make some custom Navy Star cookies. The customer asked us to find an image online (which I did, it is the second image of the flag) and re-create the logo on 3.5" rounds. Yummy!
